The Role
Lovely lovely people. interesting and worthwhile work, friendly atmosphere
I got on amazingly well with the guy I shared an office with and my trainee buddy - they were both keen to help and to talk about law as a career (and were not averse to some general chatting!). people thanked me for the work I had done and were careful to show me which bits were good and which needed improvement
Everyone was incredibly helpful and willing to explain anything I found confusing. A fair bit of general career advice too.
Never bored! People made an effort to give me interesting work, and my trainee buddy was amazing at finding me things to do!
I was certainly given "real" work, and felt that quite a bit was actually being used for the client.
not really...
The Company
Everyone seemed very cheerful and busy, but there were lots of group lunches
Since we were only there for a week, we had a refreshingly quick induction and then sent straight to our seats, where I was whisked off for a client meeting.
interesting work, scary but interesting and challenging assessed research task
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Really really loved them, but decided they weren't broad enough to train with them. Would def contemplate them in the future though
The Culture
Only three of us summer students, but i am still friends with one of them! my colleagues took me for lunch, and there were several events - drinks and dinner - with trainees and partners.
St Pauls - expensive!
Centre of town - easy access to loads of (mostly expensive) places
Two good social events, but we were only there for a week, so we didn't participate in any sports etc.
