The Role
I had a great time working and living as an intern in China especially at that company where i was placed by Go Abroad China.
My colleagues were so nice, they gave me assistance when needed, they made me feel like i belong to that company
Because it was my first time working in such particular field, I had some difficulties in accomplishing some tasks. My supervisor gave me all the support and guidance in a way that within a month i could handle all the tasks as required.
I was placed in a busy organisation whereby most of the time I spent on my desk trying to reach the target. I was able to improve my skills within a short period of time.
It helped me a lot, the training which i made here are highly recommended and gave me a close view to some of the most sufficient business topics which are part of my studies.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was really great from the moment I started working. The team were great fun, and were all very hardworking. They often organised team lunches, generally everyone was very inclusive, and keen to have a laugh alongside doing work.
I would say everything was really well organised aside from my jobs. I was really eager to know what I'd be doing and had nothing there which was slightly frustrating as I wanted to prepare. However once I tracked down the relevant guy he listened to what I wanted and did his best to give me the variety I liked. The induction was really good with all interns on the intake and in the Leeds office too.
The induction week prepared me well for the rest of the internships with all the knowledge and training I needed. Got to take part in a number of sessions to learn more about the firm and audit which I think will really help me going into the future. They also went through in detail about the professional exams that you would take if you came back as a graduate even though this was not part of the internship.

Each intern given the opportunity to come back full time with the organisation if performed well throughout the internship and remained eager to learn more,
The Culture
We were all like-minded summer interns so we often organised fun social events like nights outs and other activities. We were often working with different clients so interaction with other summer interns on a day-to-day basis was quite limited. We had a group project to do as well so we organised times to meet each other and work on that together.
Beijing is one among the most expensive cities in China. So its quite obvious the cost of living and socialising would be so high.
Sanlitun and Wudaokou are the most exciting areas near my workplace and the few times I was able to get out and socialize, I enjoyed the various bars/pubs we went to.
There was a wide range of activities that could completed outside of work, that were organised by Go Abroad China, we could visit all of places in China. Being proactive was key to getting engaged in these activities.
