The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement at GlaxoSmithKline. Their HR team are very strong and are able to match your skills with the most suitable department. It was a very demanding project, but the performance review went very good.
My colleagues in GSK was very much interested in me and my opinion, with great autonomy they gave me a huge responsibility.
I was given the support I needed. However, my manager was challenging me a lot. If you really want to develop, this is the company to be in. They really push you out of your comfort zone and let you become a greater version of yourself.
Extremely busy. My project was a high impact project and would benefit the whole team. Many late evenings in the office, but absolutely worth it.
A huge responsibility was given to me. I was going to model the end-to-end supply chain and identify risks that I later on had to rate and find a mitigation plan for. I basically made a recommendation of where to start improving to reduce the total supply chain risk.
The placement taught me valuable skills in terms of time management, and how to always improve. I was met with multiple challenges from stakeholders and my manager, and they taught me how important it is to keep calm in stressful situations.
The Company
Very much fun, but very professional with great leaders all around me.
This part could have been improved by HR, as no one was actually helping me to research the different opportunities and deadlines for graduate schemes. However, my team saw that part quickly, and they took me into several meetings to give me career advise and what I could potentially do for them after my studies.
Since this was a summer placement, I really don't think this part is relevant. However, I was doing trips to one of the manufacturing sites, and that was great. There, I could see the process of how they produce the drugs I was working for.

Very appealing. I got contacted by several departments in the organization, and I am probably going to go back to the company after I finish this summer,
The Culture
Yes. There was strong social programs for the summer placement students. I believe this part is up to the individual placement students. This is a shared responsibility of the company and the students.
The cost in London is fairly high as we all know. However, I was able to find an apartment located 15 minutes with bus in London for 650 GBP. Cost of living is the standards for Europe.
Loved it. London is such a multi-cultural city, and the nightlife is awesome. I miss that a lot,
Yes, There were many opportunities, but the workload of my placement was quite high. Time management is everything,
