The Role
I was given many opportunities and it was much more than just a full-time job.
There were many different personalities, just like in any other job!
I was given support but was also expected to learn for myself and work independently.
We had busy periods and much quieter periods, so every day was different and so was the work load.
I was given the opportunity to run an event from start to finish by myself. They give you the opportunity to be as responsible as you would like.
I have become much more confident and gained skills in communication, networking and presenting. I am a much stronger person.
The Company
It was a small office so it was quite quiet. Talking wasn't always appreciated, which was difficult sometimes when I needed to consult with my team.
It was well organised. There were many different opportunities including unit meetings and monthly reviews.
They invested a lot and have given opportunities such as IBM Give Back and other voluntary programs. I have developed hugely.

Working from home
I loved my placement, and I am eager to apply back as they have a great Graduate Scheme too.
The Culture
Placement students often organised social nights out and it is a very social friendly environment.
It was very expensive as I was down towards the south of England. I never saw half on my wages due to rent!
It was good, there are many different cities around me so there were always options. It was expensive though and we were often too tired for any kind of nightlife!
Loads. There was Give Backs and volunteering opportunities. I taught at a Primary School, held a mock interview day, mentored University students and lots more!
