The Role
I think it is fair to say I enjoyed the placement 80% of the time. Which would be a good ratio for any job. There's always going to be some bad days/stressful weeks
I remember once, a senior manager was walking through the office, stopped at where my team of 5 students was working and said words to the effect of "hey, We don't talk much, but I want you to know your really valued here, and your work is of a high standard, I appreciate it" It was a nice gesture.
Support is there, but you have to go and find it. Sometimes that may be difficult.
varied hugely due to the nature of a support role.
Customer facing role with no direct supervision.
I doubt this will help my degree studies, but these are broad skills that will hold me in good stead on the job market (I hope)
The Company
Very corporate, very quiet. people just getting on with what they needed to do. I like that
They knew exactly what they were doing, it was a slick, well run training period, then into work
They paid for me to get IBM qualifications in my field, which I see as a huge bonus
I'm not sure. If the right position was available I would gladly work here again.
The Culture
There was if you wanted it
outskirts of London are never cheap
Bedfont lakes is more or less an industrial business estate. there is nothing here
Again, the opportunities are there if you want them
