The Role
My work placement has been really enjoyable, I have met some amazing people and had a lot of fun.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, I was been given a lot of responsibility by my manager and team and they were always grateful for my work.
I was been given a lot of support and guidance from a number of different people within IBM, including my Task Manager, Early Professionals Manager and my Mentor.
My role was fairly constant in terms of how busy I was, however there were times where I was more busy and had to work beyond my contracted hours.
I was given a lot of responsibility right from the start, I was not just doing admin jobs I was getting stuck into things that were adding value to the company.
I have gained a lot of skills that will very beneficial to my degree studies and in the future and the training I have completed will also aid my degree studies and will increase my employability in the future,
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is really good, relaxed and enjoyable.
The placement was well organised.
I have had to opportunity to complete training, education and shadowing and a lot of this is expended by the company.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Working from home
IBM's graduate scheme is very appealing as the pay is above average, and also it is the most successful IT company.
The Culture
The social scene amongst the students and colleagues is very good.
Cost of living is below average and cost of socialising is about average.
The nightlife is average, but I have made some amazing memories here.
There have been some social events that I have been involved with outside of work, including 5 aside football.
