The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the placement, IBM is a great environment for placement year.
Extremely valued by all colleagues.
Good support given when sought out. Everyone is easily approachable and on hand to help.
There is always something that requires attention.
Great deal of responsibility is entrusted from the beginning with good support available if needed.
Developed a wide variety of skills, which would have been possible without this year.
The Company
A good balance within the teams.
Foundation community is very good and efficient. They are always on hand if extra support is required.
Access to online learning and training days. There are many different opportunities to develop yourself professionally and personally.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Definitely applying back to IBM for the Graduate Scheme. And if you are not sure on what you want to apply back for there are opportunities to shadow Graduates in the roles and different service lines to gain a better understanding.
The Culture
There are around 100 placement students based in my location: South Bank. There are a lot of opportunities to meet new people and get involved in the social scene.
Based in London, cost of living and socializing is expensive. However, as a commuter you don't feel the cost as much.
Being in London everything is easily accessible and options are unlimited.
There are numerous opportunities to get involved with activities outside your day to day role and work.
