The Role
My placement has been the great experience. I have been able to learn so many things and meet very many influential people that have impacted my life positively. My placement year has helped me grow and mature in terms of my career and I have now been able to realize the career path I wish to follow.
Colleagues were very friendly and welcoming all through my placement. It was easy getting to know different people from different business sectors and if interested in what they do then it was easy to shadow them.
My manager was always helpful and ready to assist when I didn't understand anything. He was very keen on my personal development and always went the extra mile to ensure that I am getting the best out of my placement year.
There were only a few days where work was overwhelming. However, my daily work was perfectly balanced with different things to learn each and every day. I also found that I had extra time to actually focus on my personal development. This was through taking courses offered by the company.
My manager was keen to give me responsibilities that I could handle and avoided making me overwhelmed. I then took upon more responsibilities as I continued developing.
The skills I have achieved are way beyond what I expected. Its like I was learning something new everyday. From the very basics of using Excel to being an effective manager/leader. I have gained a lot of management skills that will help in my career.
The Company
The office had a calm atmosphere. There was a good and conducive environment for you to carry out your work.
From the time we started our placement our managers had a plan and they gave us a chance to also make a plan to what we want to achieve from the placement. It was great that we had reviews at 3,6 and at the end of our placement. the reviews were really important as they gave us an overview of how we have been performing and how we can enhance ourselves in the next few months. As interns we had modules set up that we could sign up for the purpose of developing ourselves.
There most utmost investments in terms of training and development. We had different courses that we could sign up to in order to develop ourselves personally. different trainings were also offered at the start and through the placement that enabled you to carry out your daily activities.

Working from home
the future placements are very appealing as I have found an area that I would like to venture into once I complete my studies. There is definitely something for everyone.
The Culture
It was always easy to get along with fellow interns. We had parties to celebrate the holidays e.g. Christmas everyone was ready to help when in need.
The living cost was high as I was located in the London. The social life was the best as you could meet different people from diverse cultures since the area had people from different backgrounds. It was however manageable.
The nightlife was great. Clubs were always open till 5am and were very close by. you had a selection of different clubs to go to which had different musics being played. It was easy to get taxis back home or you could catch the night buses.
There was always something to do everyday after work. I had many conferences to attend that were related to my course that were mostly held in the evenings.Furthermore, Being located in london meant that there were different things to do everyday from different food markets, different dance classes to attend( for the dance lovers) as well as different sports and fun activities(go karting, trampoline, bowling e.t.c). All this was fun with great company of friends met at work.
