The Role
I very much enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very positive, people were friendly, and my work made a real difference to the team. It was also enjoyable to do.
I felt valued because I could see how my work would be useful to the team, and my manager gave me a lot of guidance with my projects and pushed me to produce the best quality work
Whenever I needed help, I felt comfortable going to my manager or any other team member, and they were always happy to help, regardless of what I needed. I also had weekly catchups with the whole team where they helped come up with solutions to problems, and with my manager, where we sat down to discuss my projects and how best to go forward. This was also an opportunity to bring up any challenges I had faced and any queries I had in relation to my projects
Busy enough that I wasn't bored, but the workload and deadlines were reasonable. I never had to stay late or felt that I couldn't cope with the work.
I was given a fair amount. I was responsible for contacting external stake holders, and liaising internally with other departments. I had to carry out work under my own initiative.
I have gained a number of professional skills which will help me in any future role I take on. Particularly office based work
The Company
Very positive. Everyone is friendly and look like they enjoy being there
Very organised. There were sessions to help with job hunting and sessions designed to enhance skills, such as the team building day. My projects had clearly laid out objectives and there were regular reviews to check on how interns were getting on and what support we needed.
My manager invested a considerable amount of time training/briefing me for my projects and supporting me throughout the internship. I was given the opportunity to try lots of different things to develop a wide variety of skills
Very. I have already secured a job here and hope to stay for a long time
The Culture
Weekly socials with fellow interns, which I couldn't attend but heard they were great. There was also a lunchtime boardgame club organised by one of the interns
The area was very expensive (central London) but the £4 lunch allowance was reasonable and a local pub had a good happy hour deal
n/a
There were some, such as running club and board game club, as well as various volunteering opportunities at events
