The Role
It has been an invaluable year and I have no doubt that I am in a far better position than any graduate with no year in industry. Although extremely challenging, the opportunity to prove myself in such a large organisation and create a strong network which has already, and I feel confident will continue to, support me throughout my professional career has been brilliant. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated, and there is a huge emphasis on the social aspect of working at Accenture.
Great people, really take the time and make the effort to make sure you are comfortable in what you are doing. Colleagues, especially those most senior, were very patient and attentive and always had my best interest at heart to ensure I gained the most valuable experience possible.
Cannot fault this. Always somebody to talk to/receive guidance from if ever in doubt.
The workload at Accenture is extremely varied; it comes in peaks and troughs. Some periods, you will be expected to work long hours (as will the rest of your team, it is highly unlikely to be working late alone) and the work will be extremely demanding. Likewise, however, there are times where the work load is very manageable. In most cases, managers make sure to keep your workload balanced.
I was surprised at how much responsibility I was given. From week 3 I was regularly client-facing, and half way through my internship I was sent to run an internal workshop in Amsterdam for a number of very senior Accenture leads from Europe, Asia and Latin America. At Accenture there is definitely a massive opportunity to show your ability and once you show you are capable, many doors are opened for you.
Extremely useful; theory and what is taught at University does not compare to practical knowledge/experience.
The Company
Dependent on team workload but generally very good team morale. Spirits are high even when the pressure is on and long hours are being worked.
Perfect - HR team are excellent at what they do and ensure you are always kept in the loop.

The Culture
Great bunch on interns - all got on very well and became good friends. Always something social going on and the HR team organised regular socials for us.
Inner city... very expensive, though you learn to be thrifty with money (happy hours become your best friends). Accenture has one of the best internship salaries which is definitely a big help.
