About You
I really enjoyed this insight programme, it was very interesting and gave me an insight into the industry, the company and their culture
All the staff and employees were very welcoming, and helpful. They were willing to talk to all of us, and answer all of our queries.
Everyone was very welcoming and supportive, I had a chance to talk to many grads 1-on-1, and also received long detailed talks regarding all of Fidelity's different opportunities
The information I received helped me learn what exactly I wanted to do in the future. It also lead to discover that there are a lot more opportunities in finance than I initially thought
The Company
The insight was very structured, we knew exactly what we were doing at each moment of our time there. We received a schedule at the start of the week, which was followed quite strictly. The structure allowed us to have the time to learn about each of the company's different streams.
It was very friendly and very casual, but it was also professional and allowed us to network more easily with each other, the recent grads, and the numerous employees that came to talk to us.
As this is an insight, they did not have much time to train us, but they definitely allowed us to develop our skills through stock picking or sales pitches for example.
I talked to grads from all the different streams who gave me a very accurate description of what it is like working at the company, and the differences and similarities in comparison with other firms
I understood the company culture very soon after entering the company premises. The culture is professional, relaxed and very client-focused. Every employee truly believes in doing what is best for their clients.
After the insight, I knew that asset management was definitely a career I would be interested in pursuing. I also knew why I wanted to, and what specific part of the industry I wanted to enter.
Everything Else
The company paid for travel and accomodation.
There was a definite emphasis placed on the importance of networking, we had an opportunity to meet other employees at least twice a day, and had lunch and dinner with different employees.
The networking events were very useful in helping me understand the culture of the company, and the motivation and ethics of the employees
Yes,we were shown many activities that employees were involved, including marathons, working with schools and other value-adding activities
Yes, it was very enjoyable and gave me a very clear insight into the company, the employees, the culture and the industry.
