About You
The insight offered a broad spectrum within Citi ranging from compliance to asset management. It was enjoyable to learn how much background work takes place within banking and to witness the opportunities available.
Citi ensured that we as students always felt comfortable and included. The experience was very much focused on us and our skills as we were allocated tasks and challenges.
All the staff at Citi were very welcoming and approachable. I requested to speak to a certain department and it was arranged speedily and without issue.
The skills I developed during this week will be invaluable. I was working in groups and individually as well as giving a presentation. These skills and experiences will be something to discuss at interviews.
The Company
The insight was fully timetabled and organised so that we constantly had something to do or somewhere to be which allowed us to gain a fuller insight into the company.
Everyone really enjoyed the experience, students and staff alike. The atmosphere was continuously friendly.
Citi set up a stock market challenge for us to take part in along with a crisis management scenario the next day. These tasks allowed me to develop my team work, critical thinking and presentation skills.
From speaking to members of staff on the job, the insight allowed me to decipher which departments appeal to me and why. This experience is of course very useful, as otherwise I wouldn't have the same knowledge.
The company is very team driven and places an enormous emphasis on their staff's happiness and wellbeing. Many members of staff discussed the ample training opportunity and societies available at the office.
The four days encompassed a multitude of factors that have swayed me to consider a potential career in this sector.
Everything Else
Subsidised or paid for car parking/transport would have been beneficial. However lunch was provided each day.
Yes, there was a Q&A session in which we could speak to members of staff from a variety of departments, including those requested.
Many members of staff invited us to add them on LinkedIn and to use Citi's own insider website.
Yes, the vast range of clubs and societies had a presentation of their own, the team are very enthusiastic and open to establishing new clubs and teams.
Yes, I would recommend this insight to anyone considering any professional career path as it enriches skills needed for this type of employment.
