The Role
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend applications to this internship. It has been an amazing way to begin my career and has been fun to experience how banks grow and make money.
The team I was with was relatively small and it was easy to integrate into. They were very welcoming to talk to.
All teams across Barclays were more than happy to provide help and advice.
Challenging objectives were set out from the start and this ensured I was never left with nothing to do.
Many of the projects I worked on were to be delivered to senior team members, and thus a high level of trust was given in my ability to be accurate.
The internship has developed my corporate behaviour and this in no doubt will be a priceless place to start to become a seasoned professional in corporate banking.
The Company
Office atmosphere was as expected in a prestigious corporate bank, not a circus but not TOO formal.
We were constantly updated on where we needed to be and why. An intern handbook was provide at the start containing a calendar of events and intern obligations.
The company had an entire week dedicated to training including body language sessions, presentation sessions, economic learning sessions, stream specific sessions, project management sessions and even a community support event!

Got A Job With Them ! Hard work, integrity and honesty WILL prevail.
The Culture
Social events were encouraged.
Admittedly London is expensive for a student but the opportunities make this bearable.
Canary Wharf is a buzzing scene in the evening!
We were taken on a Dragon Boat Racing social event !
