About You
It was eye opening and made me realise all the different types of jobs inside the jobs most people already know about. It was full with information and your questions were never unanswered. The only part that wasn't great was sitting down for such long periods at a time, but that couldn't be helped.
There were many people available to speak to us and give us an idea of what the different job roles entailed and what it was like to work at KPMG. Networking event was lovely, I had never experienced one before so it was good practice in a very friendly environment.
Presentations we had to complete gave very good feedback for the whole group to know what you should focus on in future group presentations. It would have been nice to get individual presentation feedback although I understand this would have been hard and time consuming because there was so many of us.
The Company
Every person you met on the first year insight programme was lovely to speak to, it created a lovely atmosphere between all of us on the programme and everyone who came to speak to us were all really positive and outgoing.
Everyone who worked there seemed to truly like working there, which obviously makes any job easier to go to. They all told us the benefits and challenges of working there which I feel gave us a true reflection of how it is to work at KPMG.
I changed my original career path decision as I did not know the career I actually wanted was available at KPMG until the insight programme, this was a huge positive for me.
Everything Else
Not sure when I will receive the reimbursement, however they said we should not be waiting long.
There was plenty of opportunity to network, as well as a 2 hour networking session after the event on the first day some speakers stayed during our breaks giving us further opportunity to network.
I had never been networking before so at first it was hard to approach different people but you soon got used to it. The only negative is sometimes everyone was already in groups and you felt rude going interrupting a group to listen and ask questions that had probably already been asked.
