About You
- The interaction between the other attendees, and the business representatives, omnipresent. - The learning side of the insight. - The diversity of the Agenda, Group Project/ Case Study/ Overview / Networking/ Careers Fair/ Visiting
- At any moment we can ask question, or debate with pretty much every one - In all the group works, each of our opinion was used, everybody as a contribution - During the networking (Either at the special evening, or during the day at Barclays)
- Everything, each activity or task were well explained, so it wasn't that complex, everybody within the business representatives has a great knowledge and could explain easily everything. - The HR were always available for more explanation, or anything we could need.
- The most important informations were on how the bank works, inside each division, I can much more easily understand the Industry of Investment Banking. - I've learned some really interesting tips about Negotiation, Speaking in front of people in a more effective way, or persuasive way. - All that I've learned, help me decide, which path of "Investment Banking" will fit me the most, where I can work easily during long day, with people I like and I find interesting. - I have also sharped my analytical skill, in a way where, I know which information are the most capital, where can I get them, how can I use them, etc...,All of that will help me back at school and in my future career too.
The Company
- Very well structured, complete. - Personally I have a much complete, better, view and understanding of the Banking Industry globally - I have just wished that we would do the "Work Shadowing" earlier in the week, in order to have a clearer view on some division, if some of us are interested in "S&T" for example. Otherwise, it was great.
- Super positive and lively. Within the attendees, the employees of Barclays, everyone was so kind, the atmosphere was really cool. - I feel that I am in an professional environment, people really love their jobs and are serious about it, but everybody's really nice. People have time to show, explain to you, wants to learn more about you. - Globally, I'm really enjoying the atmosphere at Barclays.
- Barclays really helped us being prepared for this Insight, through the application mostly, and also during the week. - We've had some great overviews about almost all divisions, many chances to interact with the employees, which gave us an idea of what we want to "be" in the future, in which kind of financial career we would like to be and develop ourselves.
- All the Business Representatives that we've met spoke about their relationship with the company, talk about the values, how they act with it, etc... - Almost, all of them spoke about their daily life and showed us how it would be like to be a full time employee here at Barclays. - During the Networking evening, all the people that I have met, talked to me about their professional life, and it was really interesting.
- Through the history of Barclays, and the main steps. Also through the objectives that Barclays wants to reach in the future.
- It really helped me to see what kind of job I would most enjoy to do on a daily basis. - What kind of skills I would want to use, where I want to work (London). - I have decided what kind of impact I would like to have into the Investment Banking sector. The insight really helped me to focus on each division to evaluate those. Now I know that IBD & especially M&A, attracts me, more than anything !
Everything Else
- Refund of the travelling cost and an allowance of 250£ for the week.
- There were many of it, well organized, we've had them on a daily basis, many opportunities to network and meet a large number of employees, so it was great !
- The event to meet them were really great, but sometimes, pretty short. - Like the Networking Evening was so great, but 2h snapped in like 20 minutes for me. - Career Fairs too was really interesting, but kind of short when we want to get into details with the employees.
- I do for most of them. It was pretty interesting to learn how do they relax or enjoy their free time while working in Investment Banking.
- Absolutely, It really help us gains, some great insight about the Banking world and especially about Investment Banking. - We can learn a lot about all divisions that composes the bank, what are the expectation in terms of work, skills, and behavior to adopt. - I would definitely recommand this insight to a friend if his interested in Finance.
