The Role
I enjoyed my time during the placement as it was equally balanced between work and my life. The placement was very helpful and gave me a insight to what the work will be like in the real world and what I can expect in this field if I were to come back after graduation.
The colleagues at Accenture were extremely helpful and useful throughout my time with the company, I could go back to them and ask for help if I did not understand something or needed help completing a task, this made my time with the company extremely valuable and enjoyable and also allowed me to make strong networks.
My supervisors on various projects and even the management were extremely helpful and always willing to help. The support they gave me was very useful, they took into consideration that I am a placement student and will not be aware of the same terms many colleagues (who've worked long term will know off) therefore showed a great deal of support. They also treated me like a permanent employee and gave the same level of attention.
My work varied on a day to day basis, sometimes I had little and sometimes I was extremely busy with work depending on the available work and the project I was working on, there were sometimes I was without work and therefore I took the opportunity to do training courses provided by Accenture / help other colleagues if and when required.
My responsibilities increased as the time went on, I was treated like any other person at the job and was given anything and everything I could do with means of support/no support from colleagues. This was good as I was able to learn new things and had challenges along the way.
I have developed myself greatly especially through training, various projects in different shapes and forms and also the networks I have made. The knowledge I have gained will surely be valuable to complete my degree and later on in work life as I can come back to work with more confidence.
The Company
I was based in the Accenture office and on client sites so I had the chance to experience different work places and work with different groups of people. The overall atmosphere varied from time to time and place to place as sometimes it was relaxed and cosy others quite stressed due to deadlines approaching - so I can say I have seen most if not all.
The placement was very well organised from day 1 with inductions, training and time to get to know other interns and colleagues. In terms of the work - it was also very well managed and sussed out so I was at ease joining Accenture and knowing what will be expected of me and what I can expect of others.
Every intern or a colleague for that matter had a personal budget for training which was good to know, we also had ample of training courses available free of charge and had the means to go on paid external training provided it would be useful in one way or another.

The employment with Accenture would be great especially considering now I have the experience and knowledge of working here, having build a network I can come back knowing my way around and therefore find my way around or whom to contact if I get lost.
The Culture
All the colleagues, interns or not were very well engaged and would go out every now and again for a meal, cinema, bowling etc. therefore it balanced out the work and life outside of work very well. Everyone in the team knew each other and therefore all of us were able to enjoy the time together.
Accenture is a London based company and therefore it can be quite expensive if you go out every once in a few days but if the project is based outside of London than Accenture would basically expense your travel, meal, hotel stay etc. so cost of living and socialising heavily depend on where your project is as it can be anywhere nationally or internationally.
The nightlife where I worked was quite great as there was lots to do in the area if not then the team would go out somewhere to do stuff even if we had to make a small journey back and forth. The overall atmosphere of the places were quite welcoming and interesting.
There were plenty of opportunities to get involved with activities outside of work e.g. organise events yourself, charity events, team get together, dress down days etc. this was good to balance out work and personal life and also to get to know colleagues, senior management etc.
