About You
It was really informative. I had a variety of opportunities to network with people who had just left the graduate programme or had been at UBS for a long time. I also had the chance to network with great people and improve my CV.
I was given a variety of opportunities during this week to share my thoughts. During the week I felt like I was treated as an equal and I was never made to feel inferior.
All of the employees were extremely approachable and they gave us an in depth analysis and description of the their respective roles within the firm. They also made it clear that we could email them and ask further questions if we wanted to.
There were presentations this week that gave us an insight into broad affairs and the consequences of the financial crisis in particular the effects it had on investment banks. However due to the nature of my degree only some of that was applicable .
The Company
The work shadowing was very rewarding and informative. However I believe that we should have the opportunity to shadow more departments. Furthermore it would have been helpful to have the agenda before we started the spring week and the handbook should follow the slides shown in the presentations
It was a really positive atmosphere and everybody was very friendly. UBS employees were always willing to answer any questions and they were all very open people.
They gave us an insight into what's it's like to work at an investment bank and the particular skills we'd need in the different areas. They then used workshops to allow us to develop these skills.
Apart from the shadowing experience we stayed in one room most of the time . This prevented us from experiencing what it's actually like to work.
Absolutely amazing. I went from really liking UBS to absolutely loving it and this is because of the culture they have and demonstrate.
We had presentations and workshops in all the different roles within the bank. However we were unable to actually experience the roles and this made it difficult to fully decide which career path to follow.
Everything Else
This was problematic for me because travel costs for me was quite expensive even though I lived in London.
So many! They were all very welcoming, friendly and willing to answer any questions.
They were great. Met lots of friendly people from different areas within the bank. We also had the chance to network between other interns at a sociak event UBS hosted which was great.
Yes. We learnt about the many networks and the different clubs/ opportunities available
Yes!
