About You
I really enjoy the insight programme since it is well structured. There are lots of opportunities to network with business representatives and people from other universities. It also provides a brief overview of the division in an interactive way.
I felt quite valued since each of us was provided with excellent accommodation and convenient travel pick-ups. There are also many chances to ask questions whether it is in public or individual networking. The work shadowing was great since we are allowed to speak to our buddies in a private space.
For group works, each group is provided with a business representative or coaches which guide us through projects and tasks. Their support is really valuable since it helped us to understand the business and had fun at the same time.
The most important skill mentioned was soft skills such as networking and presentation skills. For a finance career, this is crucial to success since there are lots of interaction with clients and colleagues. It also extended my network across the top universities in the UK.
The Company
There is a well-prepared booklet which contains all the essential information about the programme. The only thing is about the event order. I think it would be better to have "introduction into operations" before any work shadowing and networking events.
All the people are really enthusiastic, I really felt pushed in this driving environment.
All the current employees are extremely helpful. There are also a range of job positions which helped me understand the company's culture.
Everything Else
There are many networking opportunities, whether it is those under graduate schemes or those who just started their career or those who worked for the company for over twenty years. It really gave me an insight of the potential career progression in the company.
Yes. There are volunteering works, sports communities and social events. I knew them through networking, wild site tour and presentations through out the week.
