Summer Vacation Scheme Review

I have had a really great time during my Vacation Scheme here. I've learnt a lot and have felt I can help the lawyers out to some extent, whilst also leaning and experiencing what it's like to work here.

I have felt as though my research and comments are valued and appreciated, which has been really important and a real positive of the 2 weeks.

In my second week especially I have felt really supported, the corporate team have been really helpful and welcoming. I have been allowed to sit in on client meetings and my resarch has been valued.

I have learnt invaluable skills in terms of how lawyers work and the skills that they need in order to be successful. These skills will be hugely helpfuly during my studies.

Everything ran very smoothly and Sarah and Grace managed everything really well, even from the first Open day that I did with the firm!

Everyone was really welcoming and warm, the social activities were great fun and everybody was always friendly despite often having a lot of work on their plates.

I feel as though the company invested a lot in developing our skills and knowledge about the law, especially through the talks we were given.

The vacation scheme has given me the best insight possible into how the law works and the job of a solicitor. In terms of working for the firm full time, it has definitely made me sure that this is where I would like to work! The firm caters for all of my interests and is somewhere that I can really envisage myself working.

This was clearly evident through the atmosphere in the office, the socials and the way in which people interacted with each other.

The content and what I have learnt throughout my time here have really clarified practise areas in which I would like to work in the future.

We had 2 socials over the 2 weeks, both of which were a lot of fun and gave us the opportunity to meet a wide variety of different people from different departments within the firm.
