    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the talks we had from people in different business divisions. Although 1-2 were a little boring, on the whole the talks were very informative. The Q&A session after every speaker was also very insightful as employees were very honest with their answers.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued because the recruiters were always on hand to answer any questions I had. They also very accommodating.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support from the recruiters during the week. For example, they held sessions specifically to help us work on our presentation skills in preparation for the assessment centre.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working with people will defiantly help me with my degree as that's regularly required of me. The technical knowledge won't be helpful in my degree but will be help when It comes to deciding which business area I feel i'm most suited to.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very structured. There was never a time when I didn't know what was going on/ had been planned. We were also regularly updated if there were any schedule changes.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was really good, Everyone was very professional and respectful. ALOT of questions were asked in the Q&As which demonstrated the fact that people genuinely wanted to learn.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had people from nearly every business area come and speak to us. We even had a GMD come and speak to us which was really great because his breath of knowledge meant he was able to explain things very simply.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The afternoon we spent shadowing employees from out chosen business areas was helpful in seeing what they did on a day to day basis. However I think we needed to spend more time with employees to really get a feel for what they did on a daily basis.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It didn't really help me understand the company culture. It seemed as though the culture varied by business division. Some areas were very open and welcoming whilst others seemed a little more hostile and less welcoming.

    3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was extremely valuable. The presentations were very interesting and provided a lot of information as to the kind of work each business area did.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was not paid. I got free breakfast and lunch for the week. I was offered travel reimbursement but did not take it because my travel wasn't too expensive.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We had a networking lunch with graduates from different business areas which was very insightful. We also had the opportunity to network during work shadowing.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We had a social on the 1st day which was at a local bar. It was good to meet everyone and chill for a while. Us interns were encouraged to network at every opportunity. For example lunch we always had lunch standing to encourage us to go around and speak to other people.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a session specially dedicated to activities employees can get involved with outside work.
