About You
The event was really enjoyable. The Deloitte employees as well as the students who attended the event were all very approachable and friendly.
This was a two day insight so the event was mainly talks with some group activities and mock interviews. I felt valued in the sense that they had gone to a lot of effort to organise the event and had employees from different areas in Tax take the time to come and speak to us.
There were many chances to ask any questions you had about anything and the presentation they gave ensured we were well informed about the recruitment process.
Very useful, we did case studies and mock interviews similar to ones we would do if we were interviewed for the summer vacation scheme.
The Company
The first day was very talk an presentation heavy and the second day was more interactive (we did case studies, group work and mock interviews). Maybe it would have been better if the activities were more varied on the first day because sitting in one room all day listening to talks can be quite exhausting.
Surprisingly relaxed. I felt as if I could ask any questions I had and everyone was very approachable, I didn't feel scared at all.
Invested a lot of time and money into the two day insight. The question isn't really applicable as it was only a 2 day insight.
Was useful as we spoke to people from several departments and we had a sit down dinner with employees from the firm.
Seems as if they give you a lot of responsibility when you first start which is cool, they invest time and money into teaching you new things. They want enthusiastic hard working people, don't necessarily need to go to Oxbridge, LSE etc.
Very useful, before going I thought Tax Consulting sounded really boring and I was only going because it was a Deloitte event and there was only a choice between Tax and Technology. However, I am so happy I went because it surprised me how interesting the job is and I am now going to apply to their Summer Vacation Scheme for Tax Consulting.
Everything Else
They offer a reimbursement of £50 for travel expenses.
We had dinner with the other students as well as some Deloitte employees at the hotel and after dinner we had the option to go to the games room and socialise.
Enjoyable and relaxed.
Yes, they told us about the drinks events which they have every month, they have Christmas parties, they get involved in charity work, they have sports teams etc.
Definitely, it was extremely useful.
