About You
I really enjoyed the insight week as it provided me with a greater understanding of the banking industry for the first time. The fact that we could choose two divisions of choice and had multiple networking opportunities was extremely useful since it allowed for an overview.
Everyone treated the 106 of us with respect. If ever I had a query I felt able and comfortable to ask, and most of the time, they were solved.
Especially during the division specific days we were supported through understanding exactly what the jobs entailed. In addition, the sessions which were run for the entire group of us were extremely helpful as they taught and supported my understanding of the industry.
The skills I have learnt will be useful in a career in banking. Not only did I learn the day to day routines, and a more general basis of the work, but I learnt how to network, how to ask questions, interview tips and many more.
The Company
The insight was extremely structured, beginning on the Monday with icebreaker activities and a general overview of the entire industry. The Tuesday and Wednesday were division specific days, the Thursday like Monday was more of an overview (however I felt the afternoon could have been more structured). The Friday depended on the final division of choice in which to be put forward for potentially acquiring a summer internship.
It was a very pleasant atmosphere, whereby there was competition when needed and then relax and friendliness during networking and getting to know my fellow candidates.
Everything Else
There were plenty
They were great. We had a dinner and drinks which provided time to find out as much information as we wanted.
Yes, on the Thursday, there was a networking opportunity with people from lots of different groups and numerous talks on the activities available.
Yes definitely.
