The Role
I really enjoyed my placement as my colleagues were all really helpful and friendly. The working environment was great. However the store was quiet so sometimes I felt like I did not learn as much as I wanted to.
My colleagues were all really friendly and helpful. Each member of the team made me feel valued.
I was given lots of support and advice on tasks when I asked for it even if my colleagues were busy doing other tasks. However it would have been useful to have an induction to the pharmacy with an overview of each task as sometimes I did things wrong without realising.
Working in the dispensary was busier than on the health care counter
I was given full responsability of the tasks I did including dispensing prescriptions and serving customers at the till
I have learnt alot about over the counter medication which I did not know previously and which will be useful in the future. I have also developed dispensing skills
The Company
There was a great working environment and every member of the team got on really well
I possibly could have had more training in the placement and time organised with the tutor
I got help and advice when I asked for it but I did not get any training on my induction
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I am not qualified currently for a job with the company but in the future the company would be good to work for
The Culture
Due to the mixed age range the social scene was limited
Living prices are very cheap, there are also many discount shops
The nearest nightlife was Middlesbrough centre
I did not hear of any activities
