    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I have really enjoyed the insight, there were many interesting activites which helped us know J.P. Morgan better and also enhance some of the skills which are useful when working for J.P. Morgan. The organizers paid attention to include activities which are fun and enjoyable, for example, we went bowling once, and this was really enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued during my time at the company because J.P. Morgan employees tried to answer all the questions we had, and also the organizers tried to make sure we were satisfied with the insight. There was also a session in the end where we discussed the insight, and the organizers were keen to know what could be improved.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We received a lot of support/ guidance during the insight, this was very visible especially in the games or competitions in which we participated. In each of the games, there were dedicated couches to each team, and they helped us solve the tasks better and more efficiently. The guidance which we received helped us to perform better in the tasks and gain more from it. The couches also helped us learn why it was good to work in a certain way.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The insight was focused especially on the development of team work skills, and I think this is very useful in many different areas, for example, in our future work, team competitions (hackathons) or also school projects. I believe that now I am able to work better in a team. We also had some presentations on big data, machine learning and cyber security, and I think this helped us know what these areas include. The presentations served as a good introduction to these topics, so the knowledge gained from them may be helpful when we choose our future subjects in school.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured, we were given an outline of the activities and the times at the beginning. The activities were varied and the different kinds of activities complemented each other well, so it kept us interested. However, sometimes it happened that the individual activities did not start exactly at the given time, but this is acceptable. Also some of the breaks between the activities could be a bit shorter.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere during the insight was great. The people there were very friendly and supportive, and they were keen to answer any questions we had. The number of activities was fine, and many of them were really enjoyable and fun. For example, the competitions which we had were very fun.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company greatly invested in us in terms of personal training and development. We had two competitions dedicated to team work skills development, and in each of them there was a couch to improve our learning and performance. We had also two sessions of work shadowing with one employee (4 hours together) which was really helpful to know better what the jobs at J.P. Morgan include.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had 4 hours of work shadowing which was enough for me to understand what it would be like to work full time at the given role. However, J.P. Morgan is a very big company, and there are many different technology teams, so I would probably understand better what it would be like to have a full time role with the company if I did the work shadowing in two different teams. The kinds of things the individual teams do can vary greatly,

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight greatly helped me understand the company culture. There were many opportunities to talk to the employees and learn about the culture. I also learned a lot about the culture during the work shadowing - the employees there are very friendly, the atmosphere is very supportive. Moreover, I learned more about the possibilities J.P. Morgan offers their employees to enhance their personal growth.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • There were many activities designed to help us know the company better and understand what the work for J.P. Morgan includes. The content of the insight helped me only very slightly to decide on my future career path, I am still not very sure about it, but I know that working for J.P. Morgan is one of the more interesting possibilities for me.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were paid for a great accommodation located near the office and all the travelling expenses were paid for us in advance, so we did not need to pay for anything. I really like that we were accommodated in serviced apartments, so it was like a hotel, but the rooms were bigger, and there was also a kitchen available. We had also very good breakfasts and lunches every day, sometimes there was also some dinner when the programme was longer (twice).

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were numerous opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company. In particular, we had a networking lunch the first day, we had also some pizza evening with our buddies (the people we work shadowed), we could network also during the work shadowing, during bowling, during the breaks or after some presentations, and there was also some space for networking with employees after the interviews on the last day.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were great, and in many of them there was also some food available, which made the networking more enjoyable. I think I learned a lot from the employees during the networking, and I think it is really helpful to know their opinions on the industry, the work they do and many other things. The employees were very friendly and approachable, and they were willing to answer any questions we had, so my experience was really good.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I found out about these activities especially during the work shadowing, and I think the opportunities for employees at J.P. Morgan are very big and varied,
