About You
A lot. I thought that the work was interesting and challenging. The atmosphere was pleasant to work in and everyone was nice and friendly. The facilities at the building, which we were allowed full access to, were also first rate. The people I was working for were polite, seemed interested in me and were quick and helpful to explain things that I didn't understand.
Everyone I worked with was very helpful in explaining complex ideas that I didn't understand at first. The Graduate Recruitment team were exceptional in their organisation and their communication, which made me feel well looked after.
The experience I gained from the International Markets Team, who I was sitting with, will be very useful in the years to come as it has given me more insight into the financial markets as a whole. The know-how, in regards to working in an office environment, will also be in valuable
The Company
As mentioned before, the Graduate Recruitment team were were organised in their communication with us about upcoming events. Emails, as we as the timetable we were given, kept us updated in this area. In terms of the actual work, that was well structured as well because the interns were spread evenly amongst the different departments.
The structure meant that we had sufficient desk-time to determine what working there day to day might be like. They also gave us full use of the entire building, and facilities available to employees, giving us everything they could to ensure that we had the full Allen & Overy experience.
The talks we have, from partners and also from the Senior Partner, showed us the way the firm worked and the collegial nature of that firm. The way that all employees related to each other, talked about others in the firm and acted towards me as an intern showed me what the culture of the firm was like.
Everything Else
They looked after me very well.
Yes. We had lunches and socials with people they gave to us as buddies, and we were also able to meet others in the firm who were all very accommodating in talking to us and offering to stay in touch.
Very fun. All fully paid for by the firm, and in a relaxed environment.
Yes. I found the whole experience very valuable.
