About You
I hugely enjoyed BAML's Spring Insight week as it enabled me to have a clear overview of the bank's division and to learn a huge amount of things on my first divisional preference in an interactive way. The whole week was very well organized and lead by the HR.
People spend time and energy sharing about their experiences and giving us some advice. In that sense I felt valued as every questions I had was answered.
The HR and employees were very helpful and provided great guidance during the whole week. I was never lost or alone, and got all the support I wanted during the whole week.
The skills I acquired and developed during this insight week are essential for me on the long term since they were not only technical skills that can be taught anywhere but also soft skills, such as networking or relationship skills, that will prove to be useful for life.
The Company
The insight was perfectly structured and coherent, thanks to a great work of organization. Each sessions completed themselves very well, and the whole week was coherent.
The general atmosphere was great and very interactive during the whole week. I met a wide range of people, spring interns and employees, which were all very nice and insightful to me.
Thanks to the availability of all employees, this insight week gave me a significant understanding of what a full time role as an analyst would be like in the firm. Not only did we have clear presentations to explain the different steps for us but also did we get to actually discuss with employees and ask all the questions we could have. It proved to be very useful.
This insight week was great in terms of understanding the company culture as well since we got the chance to speak to employees from specific networks that could provide us more insights on the firm's activities. We had a presentation on CSR, which is something key about BAML. At the end of the week, we understood the firm's business but also the way that business was done, and the mindset of employees.
I was even more passionate about banking after the week. This wide range of activities and insights further confirmed my strong desire for a career in banking.
Everything Else
BAML reimbursed all reasonable expenses and was very comprehensive and helpful about each situation. I thought this was great.
I was impressed by the amount of networking opportunities that this Spring Insight Week provided me. Every day, we had at least 3 networking opportunities and always with different people. Not only were they plenty of networking opportunities but also did every discussion proved to be very useful and insightful.
The networking and social event opportunities were perfect since they were well organized and people were fully available and dedicated to talk to us, and provide us some insights. I was thrilled to be able to speak to so many different employees from different division and had a very clear overview of the firm's culture and structure at the end of the week.
I found out that BAML's employees are hugely involved in activities outside of work since employee networks are very strong within the firm. Employees are involved in causes such as youth unemployment, housing in poorer areas, children education, amongst many more. I felt passionate about each of these causes, and found the people communicating about them very inspiring.
I would absolutely recommend this insight week to a friend interested in banking since it provided the best overview about the job itself and the people working there. For someone who is willing to learn and find out more about banking, BAML is the ideal place since employees are available and committed, and questions are always answered.
