The Role
Most of the work I was given was interesting but some was less so.
I felt was doing valuable work and was treated like a useful member of the team I was in.
I had both a mentor and a manager to go to whenever I needed support.
Occasionally I ran out of things to do or felt swamped but mostly I was kept busy without being rushed off my feet.
I learned a good deal about working in a professional environment. My coding skills were also improved and I got to learn about the way software development works.
The Company
Relaxed but focused. People were very friendly and welcoming.
I was extremely impressed by the scheme. I felt that every task I was given was pitched at the right level for me and I felt both the company and I got a lot out of my placement because of this.
I didn't receive any formal training but I had a personal development plan and regular meetings with my manager to check how I was getting on and resolve any issues that came up.

I am not sure software is the career for me, but if I decide it is then Metaswitch will be the place I go!
The Culture
There was a huge community of interns and we had loads of activities. The company provided a morale budget for us to play Laser Quest and have a meal together and we also got together in our own time for visits to the pub, cinema and barbeques.
London isn't cheap but the company housing was subsidised which helped a lot.
There isn't much to do in Enfield itself but London isn't far away. There are plenty of pubs and a cinema but no nightlife to speak of.
There were plenty of lunch time sports clubs and regular drinks paid for by the company to welcome new starters (including interns!) and say goodbye to leavers.
