About You
It was a fantastic week with a brilliant insight into finance and careers at J.P. Morgan.
The Campus Recruitment team, as well as the presenters, made us feel very highly valued. Seeing that everyone from the bank was just as interested in us, as we were in them made me feel special.
The Campus Recruitment team were constantly nearby and were always prepared for any questions or issues we might have. Along with that, any analyst or member of the J.P. Morgan team that we met was more than helpful when it came to answering our questions and explaining difficult concepts or terms.
The information we received will be highly valuable in future finance classes that I study. My presentation and interview skills were also developed over the week and I feel I am now far more comfortable and confident in myself, especially with regards to these skills.
The Company
We were kept busy from the first moment on Monday morning to the final drinks reception on Thursday evening. Not once were we kept waiting or left with nothing to do. A strict and well planned schedule made sure we were constantly learning.
A friendly and welcoming atmosphere focused on learning was created in the beginning and remained throughout the week. Rather than having a competitive environment where there was a constant pressure to perform, everyone was relaxed and very nice. So much so that I have left J.P. Morgan with a group of friends from all over Europe and the world.
We received very informative lessons on presenting and interview skills. These were very helpful and taught me a lot about myself and about how I present myself to others. I have no doubt that these lessons will continue to benefit me in the future.
I was given a very clear idea of what it would be like to have a full-time role at the bank. Everyone we met made their position very clear and told us more than enough about their lives in the company for us to get a good idea. The only way this could have been improved would be by allowing us on to the floor and maybe by letting us shadow analysts while they work
Not only were we well informed about the culture, but we were also given the opportunity to create our own opinion when meeting numerous members of the J.P. Morgan team everyday.
After the week I have a very clear view of where I would like to go in my career and feel I have been given enough information to make such decisions
Everything Else
All accommodation and travel costs were paid for by the bank
There was a minimum of 45 minutes everyday where we could meeting employees from various departments. There was always time allocated for a Q+A at the end of every presentation.
Very good. Members from various departments were welcoming and willing to answer any questions, regardless of how simple or complex they were
That is probably the only aspect of life in bank that was not made very clear. We learned about the fairer working hours and the ways in which employees are rewarded and supported when making career changes.
Yes. It is a great experience and is an opportunity to learn invaluable information about finance and J.P. Morgan.
