The Role
The Risk department was a very dynamic area to be working in and the job was extremely interesting and insightful
The teams I worked with were very helpful and very appreciative of my work
My questions were always answered and I felt that my managers, buddy, mentor and other colleagues were always on hand if I needed anything.
There is no reason why you should not have work to do as an intern and if you're bored you should always ask if there is more you can do.
I spent much of my time training in the roles I was given but the work I was asked to do was also really stimulating and easy to engage with which made it easier to prove myself and be given more responsibility as a result.
I have developed some extremely valuable skills both professionally and personally from this internship and I can undoubtedly transfer these to my final year of degree and beyond. I would encourage anyone considering applying for internships to really push to get one as it's a fantastic way of not only experiencing what working life is like but also being able to decipher if this is something you actually want to pursue as a career.
The Company
I loved my team - they were fun and easy to get on with but they were also firm and expected you to put in the hard work - a great balance.
On my rotations the work I was given was extremely varied and my managers were always checking to see how I was getting on. I was also provided with clear objectives which helped with my progress and development.
There is so much opportunity for development handed to you on a plate with this scheme, for example, online training, CSR days, lunch & learns, hot topics and a whole host of other networking events and it's completely up to you to utilise that.

Company Parties/Events
Very appealing - DB is a great employer to kick start and potentially build a career with.
The Culture
There were lots of opportunities for the interns to socialise outside of working hours.
I lived at home during my placement and luckily didn't have to pay rent but I know that a few of the interns struggled to balance socialising with paying London rent and travel rates.

There were always events going on whether that be amongst the interns or with my team.
