About You
All the staff with us were so friendly and made it very enjoyable, they gave us breakfast and lunch too. The first day was quite long (9:30-7:30) so I was very tired by the time it got to the networking session.
They made us feel very valued especially as they were assessing us for half an hour on the second day to be fast tracked to the vacation programme. So I really felt that they were talking to us as potential future employees.
We received a lot of support, all the employees were approachable and we were able to ask questions to anyone.
The skills were really helpful, we were taught how to make the most of networking. Also how to work on our personal brand and the importance of it in just everyday life. As we were given a challenge to present a pitch to a fictional company we also got to work on a lot of other skills.
The Company
It was really well structured, we knew what we were going to be doing at the beginning of the first day and everything was on time and with the plan.
The atmosphere was really good, all the students there were saying positive things an everyone wanted to be there. Some of us were a little tired towards the end especially as they didn't have enough chairs in the social area but the insight programme was so useful.
They gave us a lot of presentations from some great employees, so we got the best advice.
We had presentations and a networking event so we heard from a lot of different employees. We heard about the different divisions and also there day-to-day routines.
The company culture was fully emphasised at the event. All the employees sent the same message out about how KPMG is a very people orientated firm and they care about the welfare of their employees a lot.
We had talks from the different divisions which was really informative and we got a good feel of what each one did. It slightly confused me as all the individuals were really persuasive when talking about their sector.
Everything Else
KPMG covered £50 travel expenses for each day.
Yes there was a networking event for two hours on the first day.
Which was really good and they supplied refreshments but also the area was really crowded and I had been up for a long time so it was very tiring.
Yes, most of the employees spoke about their social lives and how they had a really good work-life balance.
I would definitely recommend it, it's a great opportunity to get into a Big 4 company.
