The Role
It was a good experience, but I soon realised that this area was not an area in which I wanted to pursue a career in
I think I played an active part in the team dynamics, and I think this was reflected in the respect that I obtained from my colleagues
I found that senior management were always keen to help when approached, and expressed an active interest in me and my placement
The work load was intense but very rewarding
was responsible for capturing and verifying trades
gained a lot of discipline and hard working work ethic
The Company
fun seeking department which understood the importance of completing designated tasks in a relaxed atmosphere
On the whole, it worked very well, but there were times when senior managers did not know about the scheme.
Initial training was excellent, as it taught the basics of markets and excel etc.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Got a job in the department that I wanted
The Culture
Some of the interns got together on a regular basis
The cost of living was ok, as I live in London. They contributed towards the cost of living, which was good. Socialising also around Canary Wharf was excellent
Not much of a club scene, but many bars and food outlets
There were intern socials, organised by the bank aswell events organised by other interns
