About You
I really enjoyed the insight. I was provided with a variety of information, knowledge, access, inspiration speech and activities to know more about the company as well as its talented people. Moreover, it helped me to find out and initially confirm the career path that I am eager to follow.
The time at the company was short during the insight programme, which lasted for 2 days only. However, I was treated really well by all the people working at the company: from the undergraduate recruitment team to the graduates who attended the networking event and shared experience with me. At the beginning, I received a really warm welcoming speech from the Senior Manager, which showed how much KPMG cares about their people as well as potential candidates.
I was given a lot of guidance from the moment I turned up at KPMG. For example, the receptionists were really friendly, and willing to help me with anything I need. The recruitment team always took care of our breakfast, lunch, activities so as to make us feel comfortable as much as possible. They were also really willing to listen to our thoughts and answer any questions that we have.
I strongly believe that this insight programme helped me develop much stronger team working skills, data analysis in a short period of time, time management and tasks allocation. The business challenge was the part the I enjoyed most. I had a chance to work with talented students and had a great time with my team members. We listened and respected each other. I believe that everyone showed most of KPMG Behavioural capabilities, which brought about our victory in the challenge. All the information that I was provided with motivated me to follow the career path that I am interested in, which is Advisory. The networking also developed my communication skills and helped me build up relationships, which is important to any stages of my life.
The Company
The insight did not last long. Due to the huge amount of information that needed to be included, it was appropriate to create information-densed presentations about different departments on the first day so that we could have a general foundation. Then there was a networking event followed by, which gave students an opportunity to ask any further information that they had during the day. The second day passed by really quickly because of the Business Challenge. There were also breaks between each session so that the students did not feel tired and loose their attention. The assessment centre was well organised because it did not really make me feel under pressure. I was a little bit worried when the AC started but then the atmosphere was really nice, which helped me to dedicate to the task to the best of my ability without being distracted due to any external factors,
The insight had really friendly, open-minded atmosphere all the time. As I have already mentioned, the assessment centre, which the students normally worried about most, passed by really quickly and did not create much pressure. All the presentations, speeches, activity showed that KPMF really cares about the people who come to the company for any reasons. Attending the insight makes me believe that KPMG brings about the feeling of being home, when people sympathise with each other because most of everyone went through the same path. There are no barriers between people coming from different backgrounds because the company always support its employees with a variety of activities that people can join together.
I was provided with all the information I needed.
The presentations helped me gain insight into different roles in all departments. The networking events on the first day also helped me to meet current graduates and listen to their experience as being a full time employee at KPMG
The insight significantly helped me understand more about the company culture from the way the event was organised to the activities that I got involved which gave me the chance to talk to talented, friendly and nice people working at the company. It was all about the care that KPMG provided each individual with.
The content of the day was really helpful and various. This helped me to decide the career path that I want to follow and be sure about what I have to do to achieve success in that path. I was open minded about any available opportunities and the content included helped me make my decision.
Everything Else
I did not ask to be reimbursed expenses as I did not have to travel long way to attend the event.
There was a networking which gave me the chance to meet other people in the company to know more about KPMG as well as its people. They shared their experience with us and answered any questions that I had.
It was really helpful and I really enjoyed it.
The presentations provided me many activities that employees can take part in. In every presentation, there was always work-life balance part.
I would definitely recommend this insight to my friends.
