About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the two day insight programme. There was a good balance between information about the company/industry as well as fun and interactive tasks and games.
Every member of KPMG staff I spoke was extremely friendly and approachable. They all understood the significance of this opportunity for us and we were treated with respect an guidance throughout. The coordinators in particular made me feel valued and at ease coming into the KPMG office on both days.
The coordinators were always available to ask questions to and gave excellent support and guidance. They were highly informed about all the different sectors within KPMG as well as the logistics of the insight programme itself. I feel any queries I had throughout the programme were answered to an excellent standard helping me to gain as much out of the experience as possible.
Different employees from different KPMG sectors gave presentations on what their area involves. This helped me to understand a lot more about the industry, as well as KPMG itself. The information was above and beyond what could be obtained online. I found the presentation skills session extremely helpful, which has also encouraged me to take part in more public speaking at university.
The Company
The programme was very well structured. Presentations were kept succinct and interesting. I really enjoyed the energisers on both mornings and believe it got everyone engaged and ready to start the day.
The atmosphere was incredibly friendly. The coordinators made me feel comfortable and relaxed from the start of the programme. I also met some lovely people and it did not feel as if we were competing against each other. It was a collaborative and positive environment.
The firm invested in giving us lots of information to learn more about the industry and KPMG itself. The skills presentation also helped with my personal development and I learnt some useful transferable skills.
I think it is difficult to gain a full understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role within the company over just two days. However, networking with the graduates and speaking informally allowed me to further my understanding of what it would be like to work at KPMG.
Throughout the two days I felt that the company culture was friendly and helpful. Everyone I spoke to was positive and approachable, (as well as seeming very happy working at KPMG!)
The content of the two days was invaluable in helping me learn more about the professional services industry. It has made me feel more confident that I would enjoy working in this sector in the future.
Everything Else
Travel expenses were reimbursed.
On the first evening there was an opportunity to network with graduate employees in an informal setting. Everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to.
It was useful to be able to talk to employees in an informal setting, and allowed me to further my understanding of the social side to working at KPMG
Several employees spoke enthusiastically about clubs and activities you could get involved within the company.
I would highly recommend this insight to a friend. It was really helpful learning more about the industry and company as well as a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
