About You
I enjoyed the experience of a work life for a week and learning more about financial services and how the industry is regulated.
I felt very important and included as the culture at the FCA is very inclusive and very nice.
I received ample support and help in all of our activities.
It will help me to understand how the industry works and understand which line of profession I'd like to focus on.
The Company
It was very well planned and they always stuck to time
It was very nice and welcoming, refreshments were always provided.
I feel like they trained you more on learning about the FCA, the opportunities the FCA provide and what they do as a company but the presentation which we worked on was very interesting and we were very well equipped to carry out that activity.
The experience of commuting to the FCA headquarters alone was an unforgettable experience as you feel the rush of a proper 9-5 job in the working world. The atmosphere and culture however was very different from what was expected as it was very friendly and flexible.
The insight provided a very good understanding into the world of regulation, how the company works, what they do. They focus a lot on diversity and inclusion and this is felt throughout the culture at the business. Regulation is a very tedious task and not one that many people understand or are aware of so this insight week had changed my perception of such.
It was more than valuable as there were many networking experiences provided giving us many contact details and various career paths. This gave me an insight of what exactly I want to do and at which stage id like to be at in certain stages in my life.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed all travel expenses and lunch was provided. Accommodation was also provided for those who resided outside London.
We had numerous networking experiences that were extremely valuable.
They were very interactive and interesting. They were also very social and helped develop different parts of our personality and ability to perform well in situations such as interviews or assessment centres.
As k mentioned before the FCA are very diverse and inclusive and they have a learning academy so there are a lot of things and course one can do within and outside the firm to develop individually which they fully cater for. They provide lots of opportunities for external secondments and also encourage different network groups within the firm.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend as it helped me have a better idea of my career path and also what I aspire to become.
