Business Functions Spring Week Review

I really enjoyed my Group Functions Spring Week.

I felt extremely valued. Everyone was nice, friendly and approachable. They were all willing to answer my questions and discuss anything related to their job.

I received a lot of guidance and support from the HR team as well as from everyone who came to speak to us or network with us. Especially, ladies in the HR team were very nice and approachable. If we needed anything, they willingly talked to us and answer our questions.

The information I received may not be as helpful in my degree as in my professional career. The Spring Week really gave me a good insight into the world of banking and made me more familiar with many professional terms. I will be able to use a lot of knowledge from my Spring Week in my professional career in banking.

Group Functions Spring Week was very well-structured. We were asked to download an app, which included the agenda, information on speakers, information on the topics discussed etc. Additionally, we could always approach HR team if we had any additional questions.

The atmosphere was very good. I really felt great during my week at Barclays and would be extremely grateful if I had a chance to return.

We always received a feedback for any of group presentations we had to give. Additionally, winners were also announced so we knew whose performance was outstanding. I believe we will also receive additional feedback by phone, so we will be able to improve certain weaknesses and develop further.

We met many Directors and Managing Directors during the networking sessions who were very willing to talk to us about all the aspects of their job as well as answer any questions. Additionally, we undertook three Work-Shadowing sessions where we could observe employees while working. They also provided explanations about their work. Therefore, I feel like I really understand better what it would be like to work for Barclays.

We were given session on company values, therefore we got to know them better. Additionally, we were able to feel the overall culture just by talking to pretty much anyone working at Barclays - and we were able to talk a lot!

A lot. Now I am much more convinced I want to pursue a career in Banking.

We were reimbursed for travel expenses and accommodation as well as got paid for any additional expenses we might have had.

Yes, there were a lot of opportunities. There was even one evening with the special Networking Session for all the Spring Weekers and Senior Employees of Barclays. There were also a few Graduate Networking sessions.

All the opportunities were really good as everyone was extremely friendly and approachable. They were also open for follow-up if we had any additional questions.

We were told about some of the activities organized (e.g. charity events), however I would enjoy getting to know more details.

Yes, I definitely would. During the Spring Week I did not only expand my knowledge in terms of functions, Barclays and banking in general, but also met some really incredible people, I want to stay in touch with.
