About You
Thoroughly enjoyed the insight - there was a great mix between social aspects, networking events, insights into the company and our own project. We really got the chance to get to know the business and there was always an opportunity to ask questions.
Felt completely valued - never was there a time when I had a question and somebody was too busy to answer. We were given everybody's complete focus and attention during sessions.
H.R. were always around if we ever needed anything, no matter how big or small the question may have been. I never had to worry about not knowing where I was going or what I was doing, as anytime one of those questions arose, it was immediately cleared up by a member of HR.
The information I received will absolutely help me. Before the insight, I wasn't too sure what I wanted to do. Now I am sure that investment banking and risk is an area that I have a lot of interest in. The skills I have developed are very relevant to my current studies and I know that I will use them in the near future, such as presentation skills and valuation methods.
The Company
The insight was very well structured - there was a mixture of every different aspect - such as skills sessions, interactive sessions, project prep and social events.
The atmosphere was great. Everybody was so friendly and kind and I really felt welcomed.
The firm invested a lot of time in our training and development. We were given a three hour presentation skills session before our project presentation, which was very helpful and made me feel much more confident on the day. The firm also gave us multiple project preparation sessions with our project mentors where we could freely ask questions and were provided with support and guidance.
We had networking sessions everyday where we could speak to analysts and associates in the company. These sessions proved invaluable in understanding what it would be like to have a full time role; their insight into their jobs and advice was very helpful. We were given insights into each department in investment banking and these were very thorough.
One thing that struck me about JP Morgan was the friendliness and kindness of every single person I met. Not once was I introduced to someone who I felt didn't have an interest in speaking to me. Meeting employees of the company gave me a huge insight into the company culture.
It was extremely valuable - it has given me a huge insight into the career path I would like to follow, and I think this is because each session was so comprehensive. I really feel like I have a much greater understanding of how the business works than I did before my spring week.
Everything Else
My flight, accommodation and travel expenses were all fully paid for by JP Morgan. Aswell as this, we were provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner at JP Morgan.
Every day there was afternoon tea with employees of the company. Aswell as this, a quiz was organised where employees were on teams with spring week attendees. There was absolutely no shortage of networking opportunities.
They were great - it never felt like it was a very formal event, the afternoon tea was always a lovely break to the day and a great opportunity to meet people who have been in our shoes and to get advice.
We weren't given too much of an insight into this area.
Absolutely - it was thoroughly enjoyable and incredibly informative.
