The Role
I was involved in a whole variety of work which allowed me to gain a great insight into what the firm does. Some days would be quiet but by the end of the internship I was struggling to even complete my work. People were very friendly and always willing to help you. Also, by having several other interns in the office it made the experience very enjoyable.
From the start everyone was excited to have the interns in the office. People would pop by to have a chat. Also, my buddy and mentor were really good in helping me settle in the office.
Those who give you work will be very willing to explain the steps clearly. They appreciated the work I did and would go the extra mile in explaining the concepts rather than just the method.
At the start I was quite idle but as soon as the internship progressed, I did get very busy. The Internship Project had some demanding times which did mean some late days.
The work I did was pieces new starters would do. It was great to be able to work with some senior consultants on important work too. However, the fact that interns are not allocated in specific teams meant that I couldn't see the work done in different stages around a client project. On the contrary, it did mean that work was varied and no two days were the same!
Technical aspects will not relate to my degree but the organisational skills will be incredibly useful for university along with being a more confident person in general.
The Company
A very supportive and open environment. I could have a quick chat with anyone and people were almost always smiling. There were many treats and snacks to help yourself to brought in by others.
A very organised approach meant I learnt a lot through the six weeks. People definitely expected us and had work ready. HR were great in dealing with general queries throughout.
Although we had 3 days of training and some sessions in the office most of the training was on the job and you learnt a lot through the help of others. However, maybe a few more days specific to the Line of Business would have helped to get better acquainted to the work.

Company Parties/Events
An internship will give you a good chance in getting a graduate role. Its also a great experience and will look positively on your CV.
The Culture
I enjoyed being with colleagues in and out of the office. People are very down-to-earth and there a plenty of social events to go to. In these events, the atmosphere was very enjoyable.
London is quite expensive and so the cost of socialising was accordingly. However, I commuted from home which was reasonable on the London Underground.
Great nightlife as everyone knows and the company organised a few events too for the interns to be part of.
There is a cricket team and also the JPMorgan charity run.
