About You
The week was very interactive allowing us to get some hands on experience.
Everyone was very helpful and would answer any questions I had, they also had questions for me. Any help I needed with regards to transport was solved immediately and with no fuss.
We were given a full time member of staff any time we were doing a task to help us with any queries. The staff were all very interactive and wanted to be involved.
A lot of the tasks we were given were many tasks that involved team work, analytical skills and common sense. I believe these are skills I will need to use constantly throughout my degree and once I begin my career.
The Company
The structure of the week was very fluid. Everything ran smoothly and clearly demonstrated that a lot of work went in behind the scenes.
All of the participants of the spring week were very engaging and friendly. Along with a lot of the tasks being interactive group work, this created a bond between many of the participants.
As we were only there for a week there wasn't much training taking place. We were given guidance when undertaking tasks which provided some insight into the business and what skills are required for the job.
During my week at the company I was given many opportunities to network with staff and this allows me to ask about how working for the company would be. I was also given the opportunity to do some work shadowing which provided me with hands on experience with how working for the company would be.
Every speaker that gave a presentation touched on this, and during networking I was given lots of information regard this. The company has an amazing culture with regards to nurturing an employees skills and ensuring they are able to progress through their career.
Having a general idea that a career in finance is what I want, I came out at the end of the week with even more motivation to pursue a career in this area.
Everything Else
I personally live close to the office so I did not require much in terms of travel expenses. However I know people were put up in hotels and all transport was put on by the company.
Everyday we were given opportunities to network with all levels of employees from analysts to a COO.
Open and interactive. We were encouraged to go and talk to all employees and ask them questions and exchange email addresses.
Yes, we were told about many different activities from football to a gathering of people to develop public speaking skills.
Yes absolutely. The team at the company were amazing and helpful and are able to provide people with a great insight into the company and the job role.
