    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • As an internship, it was fantastic - the people were great, the HR team did everything they could to help you with networking. However it was the Investment Banking hours which made this a struggle for me.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was included in all the team going out evenings and treated just like another member of the team who was already employed.

  • I was given one-on-one support and help throughout my internship

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Apart from the financial skills(eg modelling) I did learn many other more general skills like attention to detail, powerpoint, research, tenacity and perseverance at 2am in the morning...!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Lots of fun, Macquarie is a great place to work; they really value you, there are drinks on a friday at 5, table tennis, a great kitchen/ social area, flat screen tvs, and they party as hard as they work

    5/5

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They obviously iinvested money in us ( we were paid) and to the extent that I was given one-on-one suport from an analyst who otherwise would be earning money for the team by working on a deal.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I don't know if I have a job with them yet, but if I wanted to be an investment banker I would 100% go for this bank; flat pack structure, lots of support, fun, laid back atmosphere compared to other American investment banks.

    5/5
