The Role
I really enjoyed my placement with Accenture. Having a computer science background and working on different advanced technologies and industries added to my skillset.
I felt valued by my colleagues in the placement group. I was also valued in the numerous projects I was assigned to. In more than one case, I utilised my skills to teach and benefit other team members.
We were assigned a career councillor, as well as a buddy to help with daily enquiries and professional growth. There were also groups of people with similar interests that was beneficial for getting information about certain topics.
On most assigned projects as was busy all day. However, there were some days with a large workload and others where we left on time. It depended on the project, client and delivery cycle.
I was treated as a full-time employee. As a placement student, we were assigned projects at starting level and the responsibility was big.
I learned numerous coding languages, as well as business and technical concepts. I expanded my skill-set and understood the applied technologies in a business environment.
The Company
It depends on the project. When working at client-side, the atmosphere was similar to the client's. In Accenture offices though it was nice and open. There were events being held throughout the year.
The placement programme was well organised. We started with orientation and induction, as well as informing us how we fit into the organisation. The processes of the company were a bit different, yet flexible. So it took time to get used to it.
One of the best aspects of working with them was the professional training and development provided. I ended up doing Testing training and getting certified. I also did Java Oracle training and coding languages.

Very appealing. I ended up joining the company's graduate programme after graduating from university.
The Culture
The company used to organise events specifically for placement students to socialise. However, they could have organised a few more throughout the year.
I worked in London, so the cost was high. However, in social events held by the company all food and beverages were offered by them.
The night life was great. London is known for that.
Yes there were. London is a big city with much going on. The company also organised activities throughout the year.
