The Role
The Company
All staff are very welcoming and friendly, the office can be rather quiet at times but I guess that is as expected sometimes. There are a few big office celebrations which are fun to get involved in and make give the office a more lively feel. Everyone tries hard to help each other out. I like that even with the amount of people that work here you still feel like you know most of the people in the office quite well. I like that there is an environment of going and seeing people when you have a query rather than emailing them or calling them.
My work placement was very well set up as it has been going on for years. I like that you have the chance and control to change aspects of the work you do on placement to improve and develop the placement role. I had a set structure and schedule with my own jobs and responsibilities which I really liked. I always had work to do and wasn't just relying on my manager/ other people to give me jobs to do. I had the opportunity to grow and develop the placement programme for my role.
There were lots of training sessions scheduled which were helpful. A down side to this was at the start of my course I was told I could be involved in a couple of courses, however throughout the year, after asking several times I was told I couldn't as not enough people had asked to be on it. I felt like this course would of been extremely helpful to my work and would of helped progress my learning and development. There are a lot of good and enjoyable training sessions which you wouldn't be offered at other companies such as ride and drive days where you can really get to know the products in a fun and enjoyable way.

I would love to work for this company again however they only offer a generalist graduate role to placement students.
The Culture
The students did a couple of social events together however due to the area that we live in I think it was quite difficult for us to do loads of social activities. The Epsom area is not a good night out at all. However, London is only a 30 minute train away with great nights out if you can afford it. The cost of living in this area is very expensive and very quiet, it is quite the opposite of a University town, which can take a while to get used to. However it is a safe and nice area with easy access to London and other lovely places in London such as Guildford, Woking and Kingston. With this placement you are offered a car scheme which is great as it means you have easier access to other locations around the Surrey and London area. Socializing is slightly cheaper in Epsom than London however as it is not a University area it can still be quite costly. There are a couple of bars which are OK to go to if you are wanting a quiet drink.

A couple of social activities were organised by the Sports and Social team a year, however I feel that these could of been much more regular. I feel like there should of been more opportunity's for more casual and more affordable events such as going for a drink after work or going for a meal. Instead of having less regular and more expensive events.
