About You
The Leadership Academy was a great experience. It was very well structured with clear tuition. Everyday was packed with deliverables that were stimulating and interesting. I learned about my own personal leadership capabilities, how to work better in a team and, most importantly, more about EY and the future prospects of my career.
The Leadership Academy was tailored to each individual, with various psychometric testing prior to it to ensure we knew our strengths and weaknesses. Also, there was an opportunity to add value through daily feedback and Q&As. Further, the majority of the time was spent with fellow insight participants developing skills for ourselves, rather than through tuition.
The programme was structured by an external programme lead. The insight was guided and supported by the external party and continued throughout the programme.
Studying in the Economics field means that I have various management modules. To start with academia, this programme gave me the opportunity to test theories in practice and develop my own opinion on leadership/motivation theory. This will assist in my studies and examinations across my degree. As for beyond, the programme gave the opportunity to form vital connections, knowledge and commercial awareness about EY from EY employees and senior partners. That is something in which would be hard to pick up, this early on, anywhere else.
The Company
Clear structure, timetabled events and interactive sessions throughout. Sent out way in advance.
During the days, the atmosphere was a good professional mix. The deliverables such as report writing, coaching and networking sessions gave a taste of the working life, but the activities and interactive learning meant that I was not bored by classroom sessions and had fun throughout. Also, after the core daily activities, each evening there was a variety of hosted events for all insight interns to attend - this enabled good relationships to be formed over a few drinks and just generally have a good time!
