The Role
I found the work varied and often challenging/stimulating, and was pleased to be able to gain exposure to a variety of multinational clients.
My team was very welcoming, took time to explain work to me and always made sure I was not short of work.
My line manager provided my with constant support and in-depth feedback. We spoke regularly and had two official development meetings at the middle and end of the placement.
I was never bored and only very occasionally too busy - however this during periods when the whole team was extremely busy.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the amount of responsibility I was given during my placement. As I was working in a consultancy role, clients were being charged for the hours I worked on their schemes and I therefore felt like I had more responsibility to carry out tasks accurately and efficiently.
The Excel skills I learnt will most certainly assist me in the future.
The Company
The general office atmosphere was friendly, and there were after work social events on almost a weekly basis.
It was overall well organised, although I felt there could have been more intern only events held.
The training within my team was excellent. However I felt there could have been more training at the beginning of the placement, as there was only 1 day of general training.
