About You
I really enjoyed the week. The opportunity to meet a lot of different people within the business from PCB and Barclaycard was really beneficial since there are so many departments & nuances for each role. Compared to what I have heard from friends at the other spring weeks, it was less intense which made it more sociable and a nice ambience.
I think during workshadowing I may have been a bit of an annoyance. Apart from that everyone was really friendly who came to speak to us.
A lot. I think it was well-structured and the APP was useful in finding out things beforehand - it was probably less useful once actually being at Barclays. Prior to the week, e-mail communication was useful too.
Probably not wildly helpful for my degree but it did make me more aware of all the opportunities available. In some ways I also realised what I didn't want to do which is equally as helpful. However I am still not entirely sure which exact area I am interested in.
The Company
very well structured. Perhaps work shadowing was a little long but I like the 2 sections to it.
Friendly, not too competitive. Really lovely without being disingenuous.
We are currently awaiting individual feedback which I think is a really useful development tool. I think the goal of the week was an insight rather than training so I wouldn't say I've got lots more skills. However sessions of personal brand, networking opportunities and exposure to hardworking people were a passive way of training us for the business environment.
very helpful in showing us that.
Culture was discussed a lot in the week so I feel much more knowledgeable about it.
Really helpful.
Everything Else
yes but yet to complete reimbursement form.
Yes. I think an adequate amount - maybe some time after speakers to chat to them informally rather than a Q&A session but I appreciate that isn't always feasible.
Interesting. Quite tiring however in the evening but one of the highlights for me.
Not so much. Reference was made to non-work diversity groups and work/life balance but less so about specific activities.
Yes.
