The Role
It was a great time with the team in Lidl Head Office, both personal and technical.
My colleagues always gave me the feeling of being helpful and valued. I was treated as a team member, not as the student I am. They asked me for my opinions and gave me feedback as well.
My advisor always gave me a lot of work, but not too much, so that I had the feeling of being needed but not being overstrained. It was just the right amount.
Most of the time, I not felt stressed or too busy. Mostly it was the right amount of work and also traveling
Because I was sent from our german basis in Neckarsulm, I also had a duty from their side of the company. That's the reason why I wasn't given as much as responsibility as I would have been given, if my stay had only been based on experience in the UK.
Concerning the language it was definitely a "skill for life". Also the atmosphere in the company in the UK is quite different from the atmosphere in Germany. It was important to see the cultural differences and it was definetely - as I already said - a personal and technical development.
The Company
The atmosphere was great! The team was so kind and affectionate. I really miss the time with them and would definitely go back if the chance will be given!
I must say that my internship was set up very well. Almost every day was pretty well organized and I didn't had problems at any time.
As I already said, I started developing there and was developing even after my stay. It was a great time and helped me a lot on my way and my studies.

My future employment prospects within the organisation are really attractive. I'll definitely stay at Lidl as a company.
The Culture
The cost was really high. In Germany, most of the products are cheaper. But you must consider that I was only 15 minutes away from central London, so the location was really enjoyable for me. Also you have to consider that I got some money for board from the company and my room was payed as well.
I wasn't out very often to be honest. But that was because I prefered to look at the sights in London and Wimbledon. But if I wanted to go out, there were loads of opportunities.
I had a few drinks at some evenings with the colleagues. Also I had friends visiting me and made friends with some colleagues.
