The Role
i enjoyed every day, i found it challenging at times but the team were always there to assisst me with any problems.
the team made me feel very welcome and therefore i settled in quickly, i built good relationships with all team members at a professional level.
i was given all the support i needed, any questions were answered by my superviser to such an extent that i feel that she did an exceptional job.
i was occupied with work most of the time, but when it got quite say in the early afternoon it gave me chance to fill out my placement booklet so that everything that i needed to do was complete. every day was not the same though, it varied from busy to not, depending on how many prescriptions were brought down from the surgery and how many walk-ins we had.
i was given many jobs that had to be completed in the day, but we always worked as a team so i cannot say that the responsibilities given were solely mine. however i had responsibility to uphold a professional appearance on the counter when serving customers and i was a second checker for the methadone supply's so i would say that i had a fair amount of responsibility.
the environment that i was in has reinforced the knowledge that i have been given from the university so i now have a better understanding of the role of a pharmacist in a community setting.
The Company
i would say that the room was full of energy and the team spurred each other on creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere to work in.
seen as this pharmacy had recieved a student before, i believe that they handled it very well and were very attentive. we went over the case studies that had been given in the placement booklet and i was also given extra information around the clock. however i didn't spend as much time on the healthcare counter as i would have wanted so my knowledge isn't fully complete in that aspect of the job.
the team was keen to explain how everything worked and the systems that were in place, they were very hands on with developing the skills that i would need as a pharmacist.
yes i would love to work there again.
The Culture
not really, i went to work and came home that was it but i was only there for six weeks i wasn't expecting them to be inviting me to there christmas meal after spending such a short time there. but i could see that between them there was a good social scene and if i was working full time there then i might have been part of it.
lived at home whilst on placement so my bills rocketed down
not really owt going on, but my nightlife is based at university which is in bradford so id just go up there for a night out
in my own activities yes but nothing work related
