About You
The insight was very enjoyable and the events very varied.
Members of the firm welcomed us with a breakfast every morning, and helped us understand more about the firm.
Members of the firm and especially HR were willing to answer and questions we had, and we were given ample sessions on BAML as well as presentation skills that definitely helped us prepare for any upcoming job interviews.
while not directly relevant to my degree, the skills I have picked up are certainly transferable to whichever career I decide to pursue in future. I have also built an awareness of the industry and feel more motivated to pursue a career within financial services.
The Company
the insight was very well structured, and a timetable was provided at the beginning of the week. more flexibility to perhaps allow additional shadowing sessions within the divisions we were interested in on the penultimate day might have been more value-adding than having more scheduled talks.
While competitive, there was a general spirit of discovery and learning that permeated the week.
The firm cared about our development throughout the insight, and provided opportunities for us to understand more about how to succeed within the Investment banking industry.
I was able to speak to many analysts within my preferred division (research) as well as outside, and I was also told about a typical day as an analyst.
The programme was invaluable to convince me that Equity Research was for me, and the industry was suited to my ambitions.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for a one week travelcard.
There were many such events organised, including a very elegant dinner and drinks reception taking place at the end of the day.
There was a talk on corporate responsibility that was very useful, and an emphasis on the firm being influential within local and global communities.
I have already recommended it to some of my coursemates who are doing a four year course.
