    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The week was fantastic. There were presentations for all of the divisions that were on offer, so this was great opportunity to learn about the industry and various divisions which exist inside a bank.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The company put a lot of effort into making everyone feel comfortable. All of the representatives at each event were very friendly and enthusiastic. They were responsive to questions during events and also by email. I even had the opportunity to run over some questions over coffee with some representatives during the week!

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During most activities, we had representatives at hand to support us. Of course, you couldn't ask directly for the answer but if someone was really unsure, they were there to guide them through till the end. The HR were also very supportive, and were present for any questions we had.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As we were mostly sitting and working in groups, I was able to develop my team work and communication skills to a great extent throughout the week. So this programme definitely made it easier for me to understand how to interact with different types of people. It has not had much significance on my degree, but will definitely assist for my future in the industry.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was very well structured. There was no point in the week at which I had nothing to do. Every activity started on the time stated in the timetable and I did not experience any delays. Furthermore, the structure was great in the respect that I was able to learn a lot about my divisional preferences and also a bit about other divisions on offer.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very vibrant. All representatives were enthusiastic about their work and so were all participants.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Since this was only a one week programme, it was more about educating participants about the industry and the bank rather than develop individual skills. Nonetheless, there were still many opportunities for us to reflect upon our soft skills through group exercises and presentations. Also, a great talk at the beginning of the week provided valuable information on how people can improve their body language.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight helped a lot for understanding different roles. The opportunity to talk with many representatives throughout the week meant I could ask any questions I wanted to about the roles I was interested in. Also sessions such as the interactive case study and work shadowing representatives provided the perfect platform to get a basic taste of some very interesting roles.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company put great emphasis on 'global connections' and you could see this throughout the week. The team of representatives were very diverse, coming from various countries around the world. All senior representatives were very approachable and friendly and made it clear that they very much valued people who work great in teams.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very valuable indeed. I came in unsure whether banking was for me, but the week gave all that i needed to know to make my decision. In addition, I have been able to determine which division I am most interested in. What was also very helpful was that you could hear the motivations behind why many of the representatives in the firm chose to go into their particular role.
