About You
The insight day for EY was enjoyable due to the way they had structured the programme. The programme not only allowed us to learn more about the company but it also allowed us to talk and network with their employees and the other candidates in the programme. The activities that were set for us were also enjoyable as they were diverse and interesting.
EY did a good job of making the candidates who were part of the programme feel welcome and part of the team. The employees who worked with us were friendly and welcoming. When working with the employees during the activities set for us, they welcomed the different ideas that we each had, which made me feel like my opinion was valued.
We received a lot of guidance and support during the insight day. The employees working with us were happy to answer any queries and questions that we had.
The information that I recieved during the insight day will assist me in my studies and beyond as they will help me choose which career path to choose. Furthermore, I learned more about the job role and their responsibilities, which will help me have a deeper insight in my studies and also aid me in the career path that I want to follow.
The Company
The insight day was structured well, with the activities given being coherent and flowing well together. Enough time was given for each activity making the day less stress-free as there was no rush in finishing each part of the day.
The atmosphere at EY was very friendly and welcoming. All the staff were willing to answer questions that we had and were open and truthful with their answers.
The company invested a fair bit into the candidates in the programme. They had staff come to guide us and network with us. Furthermore, they gave us insight into the type of responsibilities that we would have if were to join EY in the future.
The insight helped me understand what type of role I would have with the firm through the activities that they gave us. Furthermore, from being able to talk and ask questions to their staff, I was able to gain insight into the possible responsibilities that I may have on a day to day basis were I to apply for a full time role.
The insight allowed me, not only to gain understanding of the firm's beliefs and culture but also how the staff interact with each other. It gave me an insight of how the staff interact with each other and the working environment in the company.
The content allowed me to decide which career path to follow (eg. tax or assurance) due to the amount and depth of the information that they had given us during the insight day.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed my travel expenses and accomodation for the night was provided.
There were plenty of opportunities during the insight day to network and meet other employees of the firm. We were able to network during our breaks, lunches and dinner but also during the activities that they had set us.
EY had organised different members of staff to come in during breaks, lunches and dinner so that we were able to network with a variety of different people from different sectors of the company.
We were also given information about social life of the staff outside of work and the activities that they were able to take part in as a group.
I would recommend this insight to a friend because not only is it a good opportunity to learn more about the company and the responsibilities of staff from different sectors, but it also allows you to network with their staff and meet new people through the programme.
