About You
The insight days were honestly a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The program allowed me to experience the KPMG culture first hand which is an invaluable experience. My only suggestion would be that it would have been nice to be taken on a tour of the office so we could see first hand what it would be like working at KPMG.
I felt highly valued during my time at KPMG. Although the first day was less interactive, the staff in the company still made an effort to talk to you and advise you on what they did when they were in the same situation just a few years ago.
The guidance and support we received during the program was fantastic. For each activity we were well instructed and informed. All questions were answered in full and the staff really took the time to make sure all questions were answered.
The presentation skills workshop was extremely useful and definitely contained some tips that will be applied during the remainder of my time at university.
The Company
Both days ran smoothly without any delays. The itinerary was provided to us on both days and well followed. I also believe that spreading the business challenge across both days was extremely helpful.
Overall everyone was in good spirits and extremely excited about being on the program.
We were not given any specific training, but our applications were fast tracked to the summer vacation program which is extremely useful.
On both days we had presentations from employees from various sectors of the company. This presentations were extremely useful and really allowed me to see what KPMG would be like on a day to day basis.
Everyone you spoke to in the company emphasised how much they enjoyed working at KPMG and talked about how their colleagues were like an extended family to them. It allowed me to see how flexible and understanding the management was at KPMG. Plus, every employee gets their birthday off!
When I joined the program I was unsure of what path I wanted to take. During the presentations the role of each employee was dissected and a lot of clarity was provided regarding the day to day activity. I left the program certain on what path I wanted to take.
Everything Else
After the first day was over we were given the opportunity to network and socialise with employees at the company.
The networking opportunity was extremely useful. We were given the opportunity to discuss with staff from a range of positions and areas.
We were told about the different societies employees could join and showed how they were open to everyone.
I would definitely recommend this program to a friend.
